Does the index get reset whenever a digest fills up?  The list has a
limit of 1000 lines and digests go out several times per day, so there
would be lots of opportunities to hit a bad time.

In short, is that something that could happen automatically when a digest
reaches the line limit?  The LISTSERV in question is 1.8a, by the way.
