Situation:
   User x gets registered on a private list with an internet style address,
   foovm1.foo.edu.  When user x tries to retrieve the list's archives via
   TELL, the message comes from x@foovm1, and LISTSERV rejects it ('not
   authorized').  Commands sent via mail, since they come from
   [log in to unmask], are accepted, as well as contributions to the list.
 
Question:
   This would appear to be ineluctable.  Yes?  Or, have I overlooked something
   in setting up the list?
 
For the nonce I have told user x to send his requests via mail.  Pardon, but
I had to ask.
