i assumed (perhaps foolishly) that the
``1 job (6 rcpts)''
were the
distribute jobs sent to other hosts and that the
``6 outbout files (421 rcpts)''
were the jobs handed to my smtp transport.

the smtp address and connection numbers (as well as delivery times) come
from the sendmail log (still stat=Sent in sendmail-8.7.1).

in any case, do the listserv.log entries represent the same counters used
to compute the posted listserv stats?

-------- In reply to:
This may include deliveries forwarded to other servers. The best is to
count the "stat=Sent" lines in your sendmail log (or whatever it says in
8.7).

You can't calculate the number of SMTP connections from the LISTSERV log.
