After the TECMTYVM Listserv was taken out of the backbone, our Listserv
had to take over much of the distribution duties in Mexico, together with
the ITESMVF1 server. With them came the "joys" of dealing with mismanaged
nodes and broken down mail daemons.

Another Mexican node, UDLAPVMS, has been giving us MAJOR headaches, since
it is bouncing back all mail bound for it unexistent users, but it sends
it back to our MAILER, instead of the list originator. Worse yet, it sends
it via the Rice SMTP, then via NJE lines, exacerbating the link congestion
problem at the MTECV1 junction. We are getting an average of 300 bounced
messages per day, which the LMAILer dutifuly hands over to MAINT, MAILMNT
OPERATOR and myself (i.e., 1200 extra files, as if our spool had nothing
better to do). Attached below is a sample header.

What can I do ? I have already tried asking/pleading/demanding/screaming-
bloody-murder, to no avail. Can I disable the node entirely, until they
get their act together ?

Thanks for your insights.

P.S. On an unrelated note, I finally managed to get a copy of VERS9401
NODUPD. Please disregard my previous request for an FTP site.
