Another possibility is the SRI "list-of-lists" by Rich Zellich.
It can be accessed through WWW and probably gopher.  The complete
list in a database convertably format can be obtained via ftp.  I
just got a copy via:
   ftp coos.dartmouth.edu  pub/Docs/list-of-lists
 
SRI has also printed a version _Internet: Mailing Lists_, Edward
T.L. Hardie and Vivian Neou, SRI Internet Information Series, PTR
Prentice Hall, Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632.  The current edition
is for 1993.  It is current enough that I would buy the book
rather than trying to print my own.  For latest information the
the online sources should be used.  WWW merges this list with the
previously mention usenet lists, plus other sources.
