Hello,

The owner of a list here contacted me in panic that there was a
'security gap' in LISTSERV. It turned out that some of the postings
to the list seemed to come from the generic owner account,
i.e. From: [log in to unmask], which lead her to assume
that someone was breaking into this account. Neither the owner nor
these subscribers are local.

I think, I know LISTSERV enough to say that such a 'security gap'
is out of question but I really don't have an idea how the server
converts the originator address into owner-listname@.. Does anyone
have an explanation for this?

Thank you in advance,

Atilla Ozerdim
