It is also a very trivial mod to allow the SPOOL command to work
for NOLOG users, and there are several benefits to do so.
 
  - If you run DIRMAINT and send password warnings, you have to either
    remember to change passwords on that dummy account often enough,
    add them to DIRMAINT's exception list, or put up with user complaints
    when warning notices get sent to the list.  DIRMAINT knows it "can't"
    send to NOLOG users, and doesn't try.
 
 - If you NOLOG a user for some administrative reason, Bitnet files don't go
   in the bucket, and MAILER still delivers them.  Prevents lots of confusion,
   and lost face.
 
 
This is not to say there aren't "problems".  All NOLOG users will then
get files also, including $SAVSYS$, et al if you use that convention.
However, a "grim reaper" on spool files will solve that problem very
easily and effectively.
