Actually if he  wanted a measure of how  many users there are on  his list on
the other  side of the  gateway, he could  send a command  to LISTSERV@FINHUTC,
which houses all  the digests, saying "REV listname (SHORT  NOHEADER" and get a
count of users on  the list, for each of the peers. He  would also have to tell
the people  who ask for  subscription to  direct their requests  elsewhere, but
perhaps the users would do it  spontaneously if all the NetMonth-like magazines
informed them  of the new  servers. Besides, only one  server would need  to be
mentioned since V1.4b  will automatically forward subscriptions  to the nearest
server :-) Very little to remember for  the user, just ONE listserv address :-)
