I contacted the technical staff at AOL and they investigated and
determined that these subscriptions had been "spoofed". Guidejib is
apparently an employee of AOL; you would think he would be a little
more enlightened and tolerant than to claim someone was attempting to
mail bomb his account, and go on to threaten to contact "certain elected
officials", but what the heck. The other two accounts were apparently
phoney or unused; AOL deleted them. I suspect whoever the prankster was
subscribed these accounts to *lots* of lists. This was a first, and
hopefully last, for us!

Thanks for all your help with this! (By the way, I'm still curious as
to how "spoofing" is done. I can also see some wisdom in *not* posting
how it's done to a public list. If someone has a moment and would be
willing to send me a brief description via private email, I'd be most
appreciative!)
