Everywhere else I use ODBC It's possible to execute a SP.

Why has this been blocked in ListServ?

For me this a serious problem and seems like a very unnecessary limitation which cripples the whole mail merge function.

Anyway I haven't done a trace in my SQL Server but I get the msg "Distribution aborted - no valid recipient" which I read as if ListServ actually tries to run the query, or?

Regards,
Johan

I know for a fact that I run UPDATE statements all the time, so I know SELECT statements aren't the only T-SQL commands allowed, as for SP's I don't know, never tried it.

That is really lame!

Why is it so?

Mustn't there be a way around just SELECT? After all Stored Procedures is the proffesional way to work with a databaseapplication.

You can't. Only SELECT statements are allowed.
