Regarding distribution of non-MAIL files through LISTSERV:
 
Why is it necessary to de-format a formatted spool file at all?
 
If you read a "PUN" spool file with just READCARD to the work disk,
and just "PUNCH ... ( NOH" it back out at the end for the destination
user, then why would there be any problems.
 
For between-list-server transmission, the pre-formatted card-image deck
can be over-formatted in any desired format, and de-formatted back to
the original pre-formatted image.
