When you do a GET, you obtain a  LIST file with a 'PUT' command in line 1
- ready to use except for the password which you have to fill in. All you
have to do is  update the list and send it back  to LISTSERV. That's all.
Whence would you expect LISTSERV to fetch  the list data when you issue a
'TELL LISTSERV PUT listname'? Owners can  be on remote systems, so a LINK
approach would definitely not have been suitable :-)
