Hmm.. must be blind, all right - I checked in listserv/unix, and didn't
see the contrib directory.

Clarifying the index in that directory:

The 8.8 patch should work against all 8.8 releases (but I can't recommend it)
The 8.9 patch should work against all 8.9.x (but may give a 'offset' message
when applying the patch).  I can guarantee that the 8.10 patch will work
on all 8.10 releases (don't ask how I know ;)
