This indeed erases the file.  It does not, however, remove its entries
in XXX FILEID or XXX FILELIST, although in the latter it is marked as
not available (nrecs = 0).  Is there any way to COMPLETELY get rid of
all trace of a file (short of signing on as LISTSERV and editing these two
files)?
