The LISTSERVs that are on the backbone keep this file. These LISTSERVs wake up
at certain times (see WAKEPARM FILE) to  see if anything has changed as far as
lists being changed, added or deleted on that server. If anything has changed,
then a distribute job is sent out  to all the other backbone servers informing
them of the change. This applies changes to the GLOBLIST FILE. If you ever see
a file come  in with filename of  X-LUPD, that is a GLOBLIST  update coming on
from another server. This is the short of it. There is a protocol by which the
LISTSERVs  talk  to  one  another,  but, unfortunately,  this  is  yet  to  be
documented.
