1.8a will  not run  under CMS12.  IBM turned  a couple  of AMODE  24 only
ADCONs into AMODE  31 only ADCONs, with the expected  results. Some AMODE
ANY entry points were also made AMODE  31. However, you should be able to
run 1.8a under CMS11 on the new  system. In terms of CMS internals, CMS12
is the most disruptive release since 5.x,  so you may find that the CMS11
system is useful for other purposes as well.
