In article MSGID, "Noel P. Hart" <[log in to unmask]> says:

>When members of the XXXXXX-L list send a posting to the list they
>receive the "Rejected posting to XXXXXX-L@MITVMA" message back from
>listserv. Does anyone know why ?
>(I have been assured that the mailing is sent only once.)

Check the notebook archives (assuming such exist). Is the posting
there? If so, it can't be readily posted again. E-mail distribution
is not TOTALLY reliable, it might not be sent at all, partially,
once, or multiple times. MOST of the time, the transport mechanisms
will only do it once. Sometimes, mail gets unloaded from a spool
system and reloaded (more than once).

Be glad that it was only distributed once by the LISTSERV, otherwise
you would get a mail storm from irate receivers telling the rest of
the irate receivers how they hate getting mail more than once.
