I had the reverse reaction--maybe the 20/256K limits were too generous.
However, I finally accepted Eric's values as reasonable.  I will have
one change to LSV$GETQ, though; I'll allow the first file of the day
to exceed the 256K limit.  I have a few software files that legitimately
exceed 256K with no good way to divide them.  Otherwise, I agree with
Eric's comments, point for point.
