HELP!
Yesterday afternoon (28 Jan 87 at 15:41 CST / 16:41 EST) our LISTSERV
received and stored a new PEERS NAMES file from Eric. The console messages
(see below) indicate it was stored. It came from the [log in to unmask]
It appears that PEERS update changed the topology such that we would
get some of our DIST files from CUNYVM's LISTSERV (before it had often been
BITNIC or CLVM). Anyway, the DIST jobs from CUNYVM were then rejected with
a message to the sender of "* Invalid file origin specified."
DIST jobs which came from BITNIC still seemed to work!
Am I missing something here? I do not generally shutdown LISTSERV at
any time. I am quite sure the PEERS NAMES updates Eric makes have
worked before. I assume I don't have to take any action.
The 191/A mdisk is R/W and has 334 4k blocks left free. I have the
minidisk with the BITEARN NODES linked R/O (it is public) and it is possible
that needed to be re-accessed but I would think that would only apply to
NODESGEN. The XMAILER NAMES and DOMAIN NAMES files are on that same
disk. Maybe that caused a problem... Any way I can get LISTSERV to
do the re-accesses in case there is a problem? Or do I really have to
reboot LISTSERV every time XMAILER NAMES and DOMAIN NAMES change?
(Is STOP REBOOT sufficient if I must reboot?).
Why isn't the LISTSERV postmaster explicitly notified? I probably
would still not know I had a problem except that I was expecting one
of these distributions. Maybe the rejection notice mail should have
the postmaster as a "cc:" entry.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
