SERVE OFF  blocks incoming  requests, not outgoing  mail. User  or owner,
your list subscription isn't affected by  being served off. Plus, you are
notified when  this happens. I can  understand a user not  realizing what
the notification is about, but hopefully a list owner who understands the
SERVE mechanism should understand the message.
