First try sending the text command

to the listhost.    If you don't get a normal response, then the problem probably isn't listname oriented.

While you're at it, it probably won't hurt if the list-owner or listserv-maintainer did a

FREE listname

and observe the results (again assuming that mail is working).

Is the WEB interface responding?  Are archives being updated?
