Tim,
    There have been some complaints circulating the network about
the quantity of files produced by, among others, [log in to unmask]
Since the complaints specifically name COMSERVE and not LISTSERV,
I assume this is membership mail your server handles itself.  Would
you consider re-thinking some of COMSERVE to use the list-management
functions of LISTSERV?  Then we could use the Mail-Via=distribute
features of LISTSERV, which should lessen any network load attributable
to your service.
