The VM/CMS version of LISTSERV(R) still supports the DATABASE function
called INDEX.  The default formatting of the INDEX output can be easily
overwritten.  Here are various INDEX commands that you can try:

SEARCH * IN LSTOWN-L FROM MAR TO MAR
index #.5 database.8 #recs.5 date.8 sender.17 subject.31
index #.5 date.8 sender.30 subject.34
index date.8 sender.25 subject.44
