I'm way out of my depth conceptually on this stuff, but this sounds like
something one of our owners just posted, that sounded to me very similar
to the "My computer -> View -> Options -> File Types" stuff that lets you
associate file extentions with programed actions.  So, uh, is there some
(maybe accidental) tap-dance one can do to ones browser to make it act
like this?  Maybe this is closer to what Cleo was saying with that "disable
monitoring the browser" comment?
