In what is no doubt a well meant effort to combat spam, Yahoo.com has added a
new form of email authentication that ignores the fact that email lists exist,
and effectively prevents any yahoo.com email addresses (including related
domains) from participating in email lists:

Yahoo says: (see https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN7253.html?impressions=true)

"The latest authentication test that we have incorporated, DMARC, performs the
following checks:

  * "From" address should map to the same signing domain
  * Mail from a domain should match the domain in the "From" header"

-------

This means that if the From: address is [log in to unmask], the message must be
digitally signed (DKIM) only by Yahoo.com and the email must come directly
from the yahoo.com mail servers (listed by IP address range) to any
recipients. In other words, the mail cannot pass through another server along
the way, especially not an email list server like LISTSERV.

Hotmail.com/live.com/msn.com/outlook.com (Microsoft) and Comcast.net are
choosing to obey this new DMARC rule published by Yahoo.com and are rejecting
all mail from ****@yahoo.com addresses that come through LISTSERV.

The net effect is yahoo.com has effectively prevented anyone with a
****@yahoo.com email address from participating in LISTSERV email lists.

Owners of ****@yahoo.com email addresses should express their feelings about
this matter to the Yahoo.com postmaster.
