Well, the writing is on the wall...

CLVM will not be able to qualify as a Listserv backbone site due to the
fact that we have to pause out several high-volume lists and DISTRIBUTE
during peak hours during the day due to CPU loads.

Also, we are in the process of installing a gateway to Nysernet, which
is fully gatewayed to the Internet over a 56KB link. The phone company
that gave us this gate (for free, no less..) even *wants* load on it.

The end result is that I am soon to have a better way to access the
Arpanet than Bitnet redistributions, and will not be able to peer lists
to backbone sites. Therefore, I will probably be dropping support for
the following lists (more may be added later):

Chat-l (37 users, peered, Bitnet list)
I-Amiga (45 users, peered, gated from [log in to unmask])
Liaison (22 users, peered, Bitnet list)
Lstsrv-D (22 users, peered, Bitnet list)
Lstsrv-L (30 users, peered, Bitnet list)
Mailbook (69 users, peered, Bitnet list)
Relay-L (22 users, peered, Bitnet list)
RSCSMods (60 users, peered, Bitnet list)
SF-Lover (71 users, peered, gated from [log in to unmask])
Unix-Src (73 users, gated from [log in to unmask])
Unix-Wiz (45 users, gated from [log in to unmask])

I would apppreciate it if any interested postmasters got in touch with
me to make arraingments if the proposed backbone plan goes into effect.

I am sorry for the inconvenience and the probable increased network load,
but that's the way it is... All over a lack of cycles during the day.
