With or W/O attachments, LISTSERV listowners can set an upper limit
(SIZELIM=) to the number of lines (which includes RECEIVED line headers)
it will accept in an email to be distributed.  Though some heuristics
should be applied, a ROT of 200 to 250 generally is acceptable.

Independently *my* POP mail client allows me to specify the maximum
number of kB that I will accept w/o further intervention.  I'm quite
happy with a 40 kB default limit.
