Shortly ago I submitted the following to LDBASE at ALBNYVM1:
------------------------------------------------------------------------

DMTCMX171I From ALBNYVM1(LISTSERV): * Filelist "PIPORG-L" has been refreshed.
Ready;

Welcome to LISTSERV@ALBNYVM1 - Release 1.7f (FIX17F2), backbone server.

Enter command, or "QUIT" to exit:
select * in piporg-l.(6295-6345)
Search started...
--> Database PIPORG-L, -1234 hits.
Enter command, or "QUIT" to exit:
quit
Session has been cancelled.

Note that the hit count is negative.
By way of background, a week or so ago we deleted some of the oldest
archives and gave a subsequent REFRESH command. Just to be sure, I
did it again (see above). If I look in PIPORG-L DBINDEX, the first
item,
1 2 23 930701005858 FF [log in to unmask] FS Re: New York State
builders"PB 7"PH 0 5
does indeed correspond to the first item in the oldest remaining archive
file. PIPORG-L DBNAMES also appears to be in good order.
Any idea what might be wrong or what to do about it?
/b
