If you meant to say "until next year", I agree.

Um, yeah.  :)

But a TTL that high is just really bad design and you deserve whatever
problems occur as a result.  More than a few hours is awfully high.  If
you have to set it higher because of server load, then you need
more/bigger servers or you're getting hit with a denial of service attack.
