Section 11.4 of the Site Manager's Manual says:
| List owners who have only one or just a few lists running on the server
| will be presented with a drop-down list box from which they can choose
| the list they want to work on (only their own lists will be displayed).
| Site maintainers will either see the drop-down list box (on servers with
| up to 51 lists) or a plain text box (on servers with 52 or more lists).
| Either type or choose the name of the list you want to work on, and click
| the button for the operation you want to perform.
I think it's clear that there should be a cut-over from drop-down
menu to text box at some point; selecting a particular mailing list
from a drop-down list containing thousands of lists would be
ridiculous. I'm not sure why you're only seeing this when the number
of mailing lists is greater than 53; as noted above you should see it
when you have more than 51. (Perhaps you're logged into the web
interface as a non-site manager?) Note that listowners who manage
fewer than 52 mailing lists should still get the drop-down menu.
The point at which the web interface switches from drop-down list to
text box is not configurable at present
Thanks,
