Ah, but that at least is not recommended ;-) If your A-disk is on SFS and
the SFS server coughs up, zap, there is no A-disk any more. But LISTSERV
will keep running. It just won't find some of the files, and will assume
default behaviour. Production incoming files will be eaten and incorrect
output will be generated. With a minidisk, if the disk goes away, you get
a read error or a "File system error detected" and things will at least
stop.
