ListServ Lite & SMTP Server

I have installed ListServ Lite, and it is receiving mail, and even
compiles a response message (for "help"), but then leaves the file
"0002.mail" (and others) in the "Spool" directory, and they just sit
there.

We have an SMTP server set up on another machine, and I told it to use it
(I think), but it's just not working.  Do you have to have a send mail
server on the machine ListServ is installed on?
