Note: this message is being sent to both LSTSRV-L and LSTSRV-M because of
the DISTRIBUTE backlog at FRULM11 (over 6,000 files sitting on the reader
of LISTSERV). It might well take 1 week (or more) for the posting sent to
the  (unpeered) LSTSRV-M  list to  reach the  US. For  the same  reason I
prefer not to make a FIX16E1 update at the moment.
 
All  sites  running  release  1.6e   with  "active"  lists  are  strongly
encouraged to order and install fix 16E-002O, which removes a logic error
in the base 1.6e code causing  incorrect "user not on list" conditions in
what appears to be  a random fashion. That is, a  user might be prevented
from signing off  a list he is on,  and the list owner might  be told the
user is  not subscribed to  the list, although a  REVIEW shows him  to be
there. A possible circumvention (in case  a link goes down while you wait
for the fix and you experience this problem) is to reboot the server.
 
To order  the fix, send  a 'GET  16E-002O FIX' command  to LISTSERV@SEARN
from the registered LISTSERV postmaster account at your site.
