Excellent suggestion Paul. :)

That RFC is along the same lines as RFC 2369. 2369 proposes a set of
headers that give 'hints' for common subscription-related functions.  
For example, this list might have a header that reads:

List-Unsubscribe:  <http://peach.ease.lsoft.com/scripts/wa.exe?SUBED1=LSTSRV-L>,
        <mailto:[log in to unmask]>

E-mail programs are slowly starting to incorporate this.

The only issue I can perceive is that of the bulk it creates in the
header. You could opt not to add this information if the subscriber is set 
to SHORTHDR. Not sure.
