Try these formats for the PUTs:

For the sub-catalog:

PUT catalog_or_list_name CATALOG PW=yourpw
filenameparta.filenamepartb
file1parta.file2partb


For the file itself:
PUT  filenameparta  filenamepartb catalog_or_listname PW=yourpw
content of document...
