Hello,
A friend of mine just got a PC and would like to know if he can
subscribe to listserv lists and digests. He doesn't know how to access
nets. I told him a little about Bitnet, Internet, and Compuserv, but
I really don't know much about them. Someone once told me that the
only non-mainframe computers that can access Bitnet and Internet were
the Unix Machines, which can be connected for a $30-a-year fee. Is
this so, and if it is, how does one set this up? Is the case similar
in the case of Compuserv?
Whatever the case may be, here are some of the specifics of this
person's PC:

                    Packard Bell 3865X-20
                    130 megabyte hard drive
2 megabyte ram (upgradable to 16 MB)
16 KB cache memory (expandable to 32 KB)

Whatever information anyone can provide would be much appreciated.
     Thank you.
