After approval of messages to our list, in more cases than not we get the
following error partway through the outgoing mail list (see below from
listserv.log file).  When this happens, it often takes many days or even
weeks for the rest of the queue to clear.  Some people get the messages
right away; others don't.  There is no obvious pattern to who receives the
messages and who doesn't.   We are running Listserv 1.8e on Linux.  Sending
the command sendmail -q doesn't release the messages in the queue.  Any
ideas on what may be causing the broken pipe and on how to release the
messages from the queue?
