You're probably not quoting variables safely in your .qmail files.

Here are two files I put together long ago (but can't remember
if I tested them, and am not currently using them: YMMV)

Cheers,
Glenn

# ~listserv/.qmail-default
#
# Note, qmail lowercases all names and replaces dots (.) with colons (:).
# (If an list contains uppercase letters or has a dot in it, we'll have to
# translate it in $DEFAULT (or other # var) before passing it to lsv_amin.
# Solution is not to make lists with uppercase letters, and if you need dots,
# use the following (and then don't use colons in list names!):
# | /home/listserv/bin/lsv_amin -t `echo "$DEFAULT" | tr : .`
# The -t switch uses the compiled LSVSPOOL dir. Replace with path to spool
# dir if using the precompiled binaries.

| /home/listserv/bin/lsv_amin -t "$DEFAULT"

# ~listserv/.qmail-all-request
#
# email sent to [log in to unmask] goes to all list owners
# Typically, we do not want to give spammers the ability to do this, so
# we comment out all lines in this file so that qmail sends email to this
# address to the bit bucket in the sky.
#
# To use this address, temporarily uncomment the following
#| /home/listserv/bin/lsv_amin -t "$EXT"
