I'm sure if you are subscribed to any lists, you'll know why I was
trying to serve this guy off.... when the first few messages popped
into my reader, I issued the following command (messages
from LISTSERV's console):

3 Nov 1994 12:06:43 From LSVMAINT@UGA: serve [log in to unmask] off
3 Nov 1994 12:06:43 To [log in to unmask]: Your access to LISTSERV has
just been suspended by [log in to unmask] Commands (...)
3 Nov 1994 12:06:43 To LSVMAINT@UGA: [log in to unmask] has been
permanently served out. Access can be (...)
3 Nov 1994 12:06:56 Sent information mail to [log in to unmask]

So far so good, but a minute later I get another one: LISTSERV still
seems to be distributing his mail:

3 Nov 1994 12:07:11 Processing file 6192 from MAILER@UGA
3 Nov 1994 12:07:12 Processing mail from [log in to unmask] for SCRIPT-L
3 Nov 1994 12:07:14 Distributing mail ("SCRIPT-L") from
owner-script-l@UGA.CC.UGA.EDU...
3 Nov 1994 12:07:14 Mail delivered to [log in to unmask]
3 Nov 1994 12:07:14 Done - 1 outbound file (1 rcpt).
3 Nov 1994 12:07:14 Distributing mail ("SCRIPT-L") from
owner-script-l@UGA.CC.UGA.EDU...
3 Nov 1994 12:07:14 Mail forwarded to LISTSERV@ALBNYVM1 for 2 recipients.
... rest of distribute deleted....

I tried to serve him off again, entering his address case-sensitively,
but LISTSERV said he (uppercase) was already served off.
Meanwhile, a few more UGA lists got hit.

Am I misunderstanding what SERVE OFF does? Do I also have to add
an id to the list filters to keep him from posting?
