When you say you "rebooted" LISTSERV, did you re-IPL CMS or explicitly
re-ACCESS the disk the BITEARN NODES is on?  CMS is lousy about updating
the directory of a R/O disk someone else has changed, and I'm not sure
Eric has included any code to work around that.  Re-ACCESSing the disk
might solve the problem if there's only one BITEARN NODES to worry about
(ie, not on multiple disks).
