That's the same error a little over a year ago. You COULD be right because Yahoo provides a single universal error message. However, I suspect it's DMARC related. If the address isn't written with a DMARC proxy address from your LISTSERV, you haven't upgraded to 16.0a (or whatever version they're calling it).

Cheers.

Subject: Yahoo! rejecting messages from list

I know there was a discussion in May about Yahoo! and DMARC but I believe this is actually different and I am wondering if others are seeing this, too.

We have started to see this sort of message back from Yahoo!:

  1 06/25 06/25 Wxxxx Gxxxxx <[log in to unmask]>

Last error: 5.0.0 554 Message not allowed - [PH01] Email not

accepted for policy reasons. Please visit

                            http://postmaster.yahoo.com/errors/postmaster-27.ht

                            ml [120]

Note, this does not specify the DMARC response but suggests there is a content issue due to policy. Now I can not see what I can do to get around this. There is nothing magical or strange about our messages. One possible item is whether there is a reverse-DNS record... I have to check on that.

I am also having this issue with my own email to people and mailing lists on Yahoo! but that is from an entirely different server and then also with an alternate server where I found if I stripped the email on a Reply to a message from a Yahoo! user of any "links" including "mailto:" it was "acceptable".

This does get ridiculous at times!

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Bill.
