Makes alot of sense ... have a departmental alias (or perhaps LISTSERV(R) list) that is able to receive inquires from your customers.  Then, create an authorized list subscription for that alias that is allowed to post to the list.  Create a LISTSERV password for it and allow authorized personnel the privilege of using that account via a LISTSERV email post web page.
