There is more than one way to skin a cat, or manage a list. Herewith are some
other options.

Option 2:

Configure the list to allow posting only by authorized editors, then use the
'Editor=' statement to specify the addresses which are allowed to post to the
list.

        Send= Editor,Confirm
        Editor= primary-editor-address
        Editor= secondary-editor-address
        Editor= authorized_sender_address_1
        Editor= authorized_sender_address_2
        ...
        Editor= authorized_sender_address_n

With this configuration, a message from any of the listed editor addresses will
result in a confirmation request to the sender address. Upon completion of the
confirmation process, the message will be distributed to the subscribers. A
message from a non-editor address will be rejected. The use of confirmation on
posting prevents the distribution of messages with forged sender addresses.

Option 3:

This is variation on option 2 will cause messages from non-editor addresses to
be forwarded to the primary editor for approval.

        Send= Editor,Hold,Confirm
        (all else remains the same)

Option 4:

Based on option 3, but with the addition of a 'Moderator= all,...' statement,
this configuration will reduce the likelihood that approval requests will
languish and expire because the primary editor is away. Add the following
statement after the 'Editor=' statements.

        Moderator= All,primary-editor-address,secondary-editor-address

This will cause posting approval requests to be sent to both moderators, and
either may approve the message. You may have multiple moderators, and you
need not list all of them on the same line. For example:

        Moderator= All,primary-editor-address,secondary-editor-address
        Moderator= another-editor-address,yet-another-editor-address

All moderator addresses must be explicitly listed as editor addresses.

Option 5:

This variation eliminates the need to explicitly specify authorized senders in
'Editor=' statements. Configure the list with the 'Editor=' statement(s)
required to identify the list moderator(s), then issue the following command
for each subscriber who should be allowed to post without moderation:

        set listname editor for subscriber-address
