About one week ago, LISTSERV@POLYGRAF began having a problem with Ack:'s.
I have a local redistribution for the Internet TCP-IP list, and here is
what used to happen ( I split the long line for clarity... ):

13 Dec 1989 10:57:20 Processing mail from [log in to unmask] for TCP-IP
13 Dec 1989 10:57:25 Mailing created 1 outbound files (1 local copies) for 2
                     recipients.

This is fine. On that day one person deciced to sign-off the list.
Here is a section of console after this:

13 Dec 1989 17:19:36 Processing mail from [log in to unmask] for TCP-IP
13 Dec 1989 17:19:41 Mailing created 0 outbound files (1 local copies) for 1
                     recipients.
13 Dec 1989 17:19:55 Sent information mail to [log in to unmask]

This is not fine. For some reason it is now sending an Acknowledgement to
the contributor. This Acknowledgement looks like:

Statistics for TCP-IP mailing (TCP-IP Redistribution List):
-> Only local users and domain-style recipients on the list.

This has caused two things:

    1. Some bounced mail coming back to LISTSERV from Ack:'s that
could not get delivered. LISTSERV detects these and sends them
to me ( nice job! ).

    2. Mail from angry TCP-IP contributors who got the Ack:'s from
LISTSERV and think someone should be shot. :-)

By the way, in the header of this list I have "Ack= Msg". I could
change it to "No", but "Msg" has been working fine for over a year.

If someone could provide some illumination here (perhaps only Eric?)
I would appreciate it.
