Though this does NOT answer your specific question (though
I think others have :-)), it might prove useful to
rebroadcast this from my posting on LSTOWN-L earlier last
year ...

Subject: Re: e-mail delivery problems -- discussion
In-Reply-To: GRB AT NCCIBM1.BITNET -- Wed, 23 Mar 1994 09:28:00 EST

E-mail delivery in the LISTSERV world is more complicated
than driving down to the corner convenience store to buy some
milk ;-)

Some factors that affect e-mail delivery --

o properly recorded userid@hostname in the subscriber list
o properly updated/administered BITEARN NODES table e.g., :INTERNET tag
o properly updated/administered Bitnet MAILER tables
o properly updated/administered LISTSERV siteS
o properly updated/administered Domain Name SystemS
o properly set auto-forwarding address (if any)
o networks and hosts that need to be available
o routers that route properly
o Mail Transfer Agents (MTA) that work properly including boucing
   mail to appropriate errors-to: addresses

You might want to follow-up on nodeinfo@cunyvm, though that is
a list for actual mail problems and their solutions/bypass.
