Hello-
Due to increasing amounts of spam, I'm seeking ways to reconfigure my list
from a configuration that allows anyone to send mail to the editors
(send=editor; there is a sublist ([log in to unmask]) that is defined in
a keyword (ex., editor= [log in to unmask]) which is comprised of
several editors; the editors are also defined in multiple editor keywords
on the main list; incoming mail is directed to the seredit sublist to
which all editors subscribe and receive incoming mail simultaneously).
All editors read incoming mail when it arrives. We take turns editing &
forwarding or bouncing mail to the main list.
Because we are getting deluged by spam, we want to restrict incoming mail
to list subscribers who have current email addresses. I know we can do
this with the keyword Send= private. However, the multiple editors also
want to continue to review and sometimes to edit incoming mail before it
goes out to the main list.
Is there a way to do this? We tried the following keywords, without
success (the SEND= private,semi-moderated allowed authorized subscribers
to bypass the moderators and send directly to the list ("Urgent" was not
in the subject line).

> SEND= private,semi-moderated

> EDITOR= [log in to unmask]
> EDITOR= [log in to unmask]
> EDITOR= [log in to unmask]
>
> MODERATOR= All,[log in to unmask], [each moderator's address)
> MODERATOR= [log in to unmask]
> MODERATOR= [log in to unmask]
We removed SEREDIT (the editors' list) as an EDITOR keyword / address.
The goal is to maintain a moderated list that restricts incoming messages
to authorized subscribers ...
Any ideas for the best way to accomplish this would be greatly
appreciated.
Sincerely,
