After you add them, set them to:
SET listname NOMAIL POST FOR userid@node
Of course the will be able to change their own options.
Otherwise, do NOT ADD them as a subscriber, but update your list
definition header which might have said:
SEND= PRIVATE
and change to:
SEND= PRIVATE,rfc_address_of_admin_assistant
e.g., if I were your assistant:
SEND= PRIVATE,[log in to unmask]
