Once upon a time, I remember that there used to be a server to
which one could telnet and get the real identity of someone using an
email account. I thought that it was rs.internic.net but this is
clearly not so.
I know it existed because I used it a few times to track down one
person who was disrupting the lists with personal attacks and abuse
using several different different accounts and identities. I would
check all new subscribers and sure enough, names like
"[log in to unmask]" and "[log in to unmask]" etc., all turned out
to be the same guy.
I now have a need for that search service again, but I cannot find
where it exists. Does any equivalent exist at any accessible and
free (no-fee) site?
