There are several style books.  The first, I think, was
_Electronic Style_, Xia Li and Nancy B Crane, Meckler, 1993, $24.
 
It's a place to start, has some ideas that don't work esp
referencing a list by listname@listaddress which gives no way to
subscribe or get information.
