If a listowner gets exactly the same output with
 
GET listname FILELIST (CTL NOL PW=XXXXXXX
 
as with         INDEX listname
 
(no  *+ FAC= whatever , no
/F/ listname FILELIST ALL FAC V . . . . this file ,
the notebooks are included)
 
the listserv isn't properly established, is it?
 
If the PW isn't included in GET... (CTL NOL one gets an error message
despite the fact that the output, when the PW is included, is identical to
that from INDEX listname.
 
What needs to be done?  Can the listowner take this output, edit it
to what it should be and PUT it back?  If so, should the notebooks
be edited out or left in?  Should use the (PUTC option ?
 
The list is running 1.7f and the LISTSERV postmaster doesn't have much
experience with LISTSERV.
